New Year Blog
The time has come to say goodbye to 2006 and look ahead to 2007 with dreams of a year filled with health, happiness and prosperity. 2006 ended with a highly festive holiday season second to none. Great gatherings with family and friends, lots of food, drinks and festivities to sum up a well rounded year.
My husband and I try to get away the first couple weeks of January every year as this historically seems to be the quietest period in real estate. For the 4th year in a row we have gone back to Mexico for a 2 week vacation.

Going to Puerta Vallarta for us feels like going back home. We have met so many wonderful local Mexican people, as well as, wonderful new friends from all over Canada and the USA to whom we have become so close to. We look forward to going back each year to visit and keep in touch with them.

Several years ago we met a little girl by the name of Margurita selling jewellery on the beach in Busarias, a little town 10 minutes north of Puerta Vallarta. She was the sweetest little thing and strangely enough I connected with her in a way that was quite unexplainable. Over the years I have had the privilege of getting to know her parents as well as her 3 siblings. It amazed us to see how a wonderful, loving, kind and generous family who come from a background so typical of the local Mexican villages live such happy and loving lives with their families and friends surrounding them. A truly great culture enjoyed by all who venture into the local areas of Mexico.

During one of our visits I learned that Margurita’s birthday fell during the two week period that we visit their lovely town. So for the first time in her young life we have organized parties and celebrated her birthday at our favourite restaurant in all of Puerta Vallarta, Adriano's. Adriano's is a family run business nestled right on the beach in the heart of Busarias. We have become good friends with the owners over the years and now host Marguarita's birthday parties in this very special atmoshpere. Our celebration included her whole family as well as all the patrons who happen to be in the restaurant that evening and all the restaurant owners and workers. Live music was provided by the restaurant and we all had a grande time eating and dancing the night away. These have been birthday parties that I am sure will be well documented in the memories of one sweet little Mexican girl for a very long time. I have included some photos of Margurita and the best birthday party ever!

There are also photos of the stunning sunsets taken right off our balcony every evening. A daily spectacular event available to all just by stepping out on your lanai.

Special thanks to my daughter Marleah and her boyfriend Ken who lovingly cared for my pooch Dyna in my absence. They had the responsibility of nursing her through a very severe eye infection; having to provide various medications to her three times a day. Kudos to Marleah and Ken! Special mention to my son Michael who allowed us to feel comfortable about flying to Mexico on the only available flight on January 1st and being absent for his birthday without feeling guilty!! Happy 21st Birthday Michael.
After two weeks of rest and relaxation in Mexico it was time for us to come back and commence another energetic year selling real estate. My assistant Tia who also had a couple weeks of during the holidays is back at it full force answering calls, arranging appointments and motivated as ever for her first full year in real estate. The market is starting to pick back up again after the usual seasonal slowdown and we are rested, enthusiastic and ready to “rock ‘n roll” for another fun filled year selling homes.
Let’s get selling!!!

Buenas Noches!!!
